Lip filler adds shape and a little volume to the lips with hyaluronic acid (HA) gel. At Peachcell the goal is the soft Korean look: balanced upper and lower lips, a clear outline, and a philtrum (the groove above the lip) that looks a little shorter. We avoid the overfilled look.
People search for lip filler in Korea when their lips are thin, uneven, flat in profile or losing definition with age. Many also want a small change that still looks like their own mouth.
Dr. Ha designs the shape with you and injects it himself, using Juvéderm (Allergan, USA) or Rejuviel V (Pharma Research, Korea). Below: how it works, how long swelling lasts, the real risks, and how to time it on a trip.
How it works
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your skin already contains. As a filler it is a gel that holds water, so it adds soft volume where it is placed. Lip fillers are softer than the firm fillers used for the chin, so the lips still move naturally.
Small amounts are placed along the border to define the shape, and into the body of the lip for fullness, in an order planned for your face. Most lip fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, which numbs the area as the gel goes in.
Lips swell more than other areas, so they look fuller for the first 2–3 days than the final result. The shape you will live with shows after about 1–2 weeks. Over the following months the body slowly breaks the gel down.
Who it suits
- Thin lips that need a little shape and volume
- Uneven upper and lower lips
- A blurred lip outline (vermilion border)
- A long-looking philtrum
- Flat lips in side profile
- Lips that have lost volume with age
When another option fits better
- Lips that look protruding because the chin is short or set back: chin filler often balances the profile better than adding to the lips.
- Fine vertical lines above the lip from skin thinning: a skin booster such as Rejuran may suit better.
- Deep lines from the nose to the mouth: these are treated with filler in the cheek or nasolabial area, not the lips.
Dr. Ha’s note
I design and inject every lip filler myself. My aim with lips is restraint: a clear outline and the right ratio between the upper and lower lip usually make a bigger difference than volume. Before I touch the lips I look at the chin and the side profile, because sometimes the lips look unbalanced only because the chin is short. I use genuine Juvéderm or Rejuviel V at the full amount you are charged for, and I would rather add a little at a two-week check than overfill on day one.
Aftercare
- Bruising and swelling can last 1–2 weeks. Most is gone much sooner, but plan photos and events with that in mind.
- Don’t press, squeeze or massage the treated area unless the doctor tells you to.
- Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouses) and swimming pools for one week.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol for one week to lower the risk of infection and inflammation.
- Sleep on your back for the first few nights if you can.
- Vascular complications are very rare. If the skin turns white, gray or blotchy purple, if pain keeps getting worse, or if your vision changes, contact the clinic immediately, any time.
- If you have had cold sores before, tell the doctor beforehand; lip injections can trigger a flare-up.

Frequently asked questions
How much does lip filler cost in Korea at Peachcell?
Single-area filler prices are not on Peachcell’s winter 2026 menu. The cost depends on the product (Juvéderm or Rejuviel V) and how many cc you need, so the doctor quotes it after the consultation. The menu does list unlimited Juvéderm filler (up to 10cc) at ₩3,090,000. Send us a WhatsApp message with photos for an estimate. Prices are event-based and VAT (10%) is separate. Does lip filler hurt?
Lips are sensitive, so most people feel pressure and some stinging. Numbing cream and the lidocaine in the filler make it tolerable for most people, and it is over quickly.
How long does lip filler last?
Usually around 6 to 12 months. Lips move constantly, so filler there breaks down faster than in the chin or forehead. It varies by product, amount and your metabolism.
What are the risks, and can lip filler be dissolved?
Common side effects are swelling, bruising and tenderness. Lumps or asymmetry can happen and can usually be adjusted. The serious but rare risk is vascular occlusion, when filler blocks a blood vessel. Warning signs are blanching, dusky color or pain that gets worse. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which is used both to correct shape and urgently if a vascular problem is suspected.
Can I fly home after lip filler?
Flying does not move filler, but your lips will be swollen for a few days and you may want the doctor to check the result. Book lip filler early in your trip and leave a few days before your flight if you can.
Results vary by individual. Every treatment plan is decided after an in-person consultation with the doctor.
