Thermage in Korea: Thermage FLX & Eye Thermage

Thermage FLX is a radiofrequency (RF) treatment that heats the deeper skin layers to tighten loose skin and smooth fine lines. Peachcell uses a genuine Thermage FLX device with genuine tips, including the small tip made for the eyelids (eye Thermage).

People looking up Thermage in Korea usually notice that the skin itself has loosened: crepey texture on the cheeks, enlarged pores, fine lines, or hooded upper eyelids. Thermage works on the quality and firmness of the skin rather than pulling a heavy jowl upward.

How it works

Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency. The current passes through the skin and meets resistance, which turns into heat in the dermis and the fibrous strands below it. That heat makes existing collagen contract and starts new collagen production.

The tip cools the skin surface with bursts of cooling spray before, during and after each pulse, so the outer skin is protected while the deeper layer heats. A light vibration from the handpiece also helps with comfort.

For the eyes, a small eye tip treats the upper and lower eyelid skin and the crow’s feet area. Protective eye shields are placed before the eyelid is treated.

Some firmness can show right after. The main tightening builds over the following months as collagen remodels. Results vary.

• Hollow cheeks where volume loss is the main problem: Hylo-Wave or Sculptra restores volume first.
• A tight budget for a first lifting: Titanium or Shurink is a lower-cost way to start.

I explain Thermage this way: Ulthera works on the deep frame, Thermage works on the skin that covers it. If the frame has dropped, Thermage alone will feel weak, and I will tell you that. If your skin has become thin, crepey and dull, Thermage is often what makes the face look rested again. For eyelids I use the dedicated eye tip and go slowly, because eyelid skin is the thinnest on the face. We use only genuine Thermage tips, and the shot count you pay for is the shot count used on your face.

Aftercare

• Warmth and mild swelling can last a short time and settle on their own.
• Avoid alcohol and smoking for about a week before and after.
• Avoid strong facial massage, saunas and jjimjilbang for about a week.
• Washing and makeup are fine from the same day.
• Wear sunscreen daily.
• Blisters are uncommon. If one appears, contact the clinic rather than treating it yourself.
• Results vary; firmness keeps improving for a few months.
