Sylfirm X in Korea: Pores, Acne Scars, Melasma

Sylfirm X is a microneedle radiofrequency (RF) device. Very fine needles enter the skin and release RF energy at a set depth. It is one of the main treatments Korean clinics use for enlarged pores and acne scars, which is why many visitors look for Sylfirm X in Korea.

Sylfirm X has two modes. One mode builds collagen to tighten pores and soften scars. The other is gentler and is used on the fragile small blood vessels that sit under melasma and persistent redness. That is why Peachcell lists Sylfirm X under pores and scars, pigmentation and acne.

How it works

The needles create tiny channels and deliver heat directly inside the skin, while the surface is mostly spared. The skin repairs those small zones of heat with new collagen, which gradually firms the walls of enlarged pores and lifts the base of shallow acne scars.

In the gentler mode, the energy targets the abnormal small vessels under melasma and redness. These vessels are thought to feed pigment and inflammation, so calming them can help pigment treatments like pico toning work better and relapse less.

Change is gradual. Most people see smoother texture after 2–3 sessions, and scars usually need more sessions than pores.

I use Sylfirm X more than almost any other device for pores and scars, because it lets me adjust the depth to the problem. For melasma, I do not treat Sylfirm X as the only answer. Melasma that keeps coming back after toning often has a vascular side, and that is where the gentler mode helps. I tell patients that pores and scars improve, but they do not disappear. If someone expects their scars to be gone after one session, I explain how many sessions it usually takes before we start, so the plan matches their trips to Seoul.

Aftercare

• Redness, warmth and mild swelling are normal for a day or two.
• Wash gently with lukewarm water. Skip makeup until the next day.
• Avoid exfoliants, retinoids and scrubs for about a week.
• No alcohol or smoking for about a week.
• Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang and firm massage for about a week.
• Use sunscreen every day; treated skin is more sensitive to sun.
