Shurink Universe is a Korean HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) device. Like Ultherapy, it focuses ultrasound into small heat points in the deeper layers, including the SMAS, to tighten and lift.
It is the lifting we usually suggest to people trying lifting for the first time: early sagging, a jawline that is just starting to soften, or someone who wants to see how their skin responds before choosing a stronger device.
Shurink also appears in one of the clinic’s published before-and-after cases. Here is how it compares with Ulthera, who it suits, and what it costs at Peachcell in Gangnam.
How it works
Focused ultrasound creates small points of heat at set depths below the skin. Cartridges target different layers, from the SMAS to the dermis, while the surface stays intact.
The heat contracts tissue and triggers new collagen, which tightens the jawline and firms the cheeks. Shurink Universe also has a gentler multi-pulse mode that spreads energy out for more comfort.
Compared with Ultherapy PRIME, Shurink has no live ultrasound imaging and generally delivers a milder effect, which is reflected in the lower cost. Some people see firmness soon after; collagen effects build over weeks. Results vary.
Who it suits
- First-time lifting with early sagging
- A jawline that is starting to soften
- Mild fullness along the jaw and under the chin
- Regular maintenance on a budget
- Trying HIFU before committing to Ultherapy PRIME
When another option fits better
- Deep sagging, heavy jowls or marionette lines: Ultherapy PRIME delivers a stronger, image-guided result.
- A thin face with hollow cheeks: XERF with Hylo-Wave avoids further volume loss.
- Loose, crepey skin texture as the main concern: Thermage FLX works more on the skin itself.
Dr. Ha’s note
I recommend Shurink to people starting lifting. It reaches the same kind of depth as Ulthera at a much lower cost, so it is a sensible way to learn how your face responds. I don’t pretend it is the same as Ulthera. Without the live imaging and at its usual settings, the effect is milder, and for a heavy jowl I would point you to Ulthera or Onda. For early softening at the jaw, or as regular maintenance, Shurink does its job well. We use a genuine device and genuine cartridges here, and the shot count is the count used on you.
Aftercare
- Mild warmth and swelling are common and settle on their own.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking for about a week before and after.
- Avoid strong massage, saunas and jjimjilbang for about a week.
- Washing and makeup are fine from the same day.
- Use sunscreen daily.
- Contact the clinic if a blister appears or tenderness gets worse instead of better.
- Results vary between people.

Shurink or Ulthera: which should I choose?
Both use focused ultrasound. Ultherapy PRIME adds live imaging and is the stronger choice for deep sagging. Shurink costs much less and suits early sagging, first-time lifting and maintenance. The doctor will tell you which one your face needs.
What does 300 shots mean?
One shot is one pulse of focused ultrasound. 300 shots is a common amount for the lower face and jawline. The doctor may suggest more or fewer depending on the area.
Does Shurink hurt?
You feel short bursts of heat, strongest over bone along the jaw. With numbing cream and the multi-pulse mode, most people find it manageable.
Can I fly home after Shurink?
Yes, usually the next day. There is no wound, and swelling is mild if it happens at all.
Results vary by individual. Every treatment plan is decided after an in-person consultation with the doctor.
