Acne Treatment in Korea: Gold PTT, Laser, Peel

How it works

Gold PTT (photothermal therapy): a solution with fine gold particles is worked into the pores, where it collects around the oil glands. A laser then heats the gold, which targets the overactive oil glands and acne bacteria while sparing the surrounding skin. This can reduce oil and new breakouts over a series.

Genesis is a gentle 1064nm laser that warms the skin evenly. It helps calm redness and inflammation and refines texture. Apple laser is another laser the clinic uses within its acne combinations; the doctor explains which steps your skin needs.

Sylfirm X calms redness and starts the collagen repair that limits scarring. In-clinic care such as Black peel clears pores and dead skin, and LDM uses ultrasound to soothe the skin.

With acne, I look at what is driving it before I pick a device: oil, clogged pores, inflammation, hormones or the products someone uses. Many patients have tried several strong treatments on their own and come to me with irritated skin. In that case I calm the skin first and add the stronger steps later. I also tell people honestly that one session will not clear acne. It takes a series, consistent home care, and sometimes medication. For international patients, I build a plan that fits your trips and give you clear instructions for home.

Aftercare

• Mild redness and warmth are normal and settle within a day.
• Do not squeeze or pick breakouts; this raises the risk of marks and scars.
• Use a gentle cleanser and a light, non-comedogenic moisturizer.
• No alcohol or smoking for about a week; both can worsen inflammation.
• Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang and firm massage for about a week.
• Use sunscreen every day, especially on red or dark marks.
• Results vary, and acne may need ongoing care.
