Are frown lines or forehead lines making you look tired, is your jaw looking wider than you’d like, or are you curious about the “glass skin” Botox people talk about? And are you wondering whether getting Botox in Korea is cheaper and better than at home?
Please read this before you book.
By the end you’ll know the four main types of Botox done in Korea, which one fits your concern, what each costs at our clinic in 2026, how long results take to show (longer than most people think for the jaw), the side effects, and how to plan Botox around a short trip.
I’m Dr. Ha Chang-ik, head doctor of Peachcell Clinic in Sinsa, Seoul. I see every patient myself for the consultation, and I am the one who decides where and how much toxin goes in. I design and inject every filler myself too. We use genuine products at the full stated dose, opened in front of you, and we don’t treat more than you need.
I’m the academic director of the Korean Society of Filler Medicine and I lecture to other doctors on injection technique and anatomy. I also try most treatments on myself before offering them, Botox included, so I can tell you honestly how they feel.
I wrote this because of two misunderstandings I see often in foreign patients. The first is that all Botox is the same, so the cheapest shot is the smartest deal. The dose, the brand and where it is placed make the difference. The second is that jaw slimming Botox shows results before you fly home. It doesn’t. The jaw muscle takes weeks to slim down, and knowing that in advance saves a lot of worry.
What Botox does, and the four types people get in Korea
“Botox” is the name most people use for botulinum toxin injections. In small doses, it relaxes the muscle it is injected into for a few months. That relaxation is what softens lines, slims a bulky muscle, or, when it is placed very shallowly, changes how the skin behaves. At Peachcell we use Coretox, Hitox and Xeomin, depending on the area and the plan.
1. Wrinkle Botox
For lines caused by movement: frown lines between the brows, forehead lines and crow’s feet. It softens the lines and helps keep them from deepening. It won’t fill a deep crease that stays when your face is still. That kind of line may need a skin booster or filler instead.
2. Jaw slimming Botox (masseter)
The masseter is the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw. If you clench, grind or chew hard, it can grow and make the lower face look square. Botox relaxes it, the muscle shrinks over weeks, and the lower face looks narrower. It does not change bone or remove fat.
3. Salivary gland Botox
Sometimes fullness under the jawline comes from enlarged salivary glands, not fat or muscle. Botox into the gland can reduce that fullness. I check which structure is responsible before suggesting it.
4. Skin Botox
Also called micro Botox. Very diluted toxin is placed just under the skin in many small points. It can reduce oiliness, make pores look smaller and give a smoother surface for a while. It is not a lifting treatment.
Trapezius and body Botox
Botox into the trapezius (the muscle between the neck and shoulder) can make the shoulder line look longer and slimmer. A larger dose is used than in the face. Calves can be treated the same way.
Which Botox fits your concern, and when something else is better
- Lines that show only when you move: wrinkle Botox.
- A square lower face, and you clench or chew hard: jaw slimming Botox. If the width is mostly fat or sagging, a lifting device fits better.
- Fullness right under the jawline: have your salivary glands checked first, then consider salivary gland Botox.
- Oily skin, visible pores, rough texture: skin Botox, often alongside a skin booster.
- A short, bulky neck-to-shoulder line: trapezius Botox.
And when something else fits better:
- Deep lines that are there at rest. Botox softens movement. Static lines often need volume or skin quality treatment.
- A short or set-back chin. Jaw slimming makes the lower face narrower, but if the chin is weak, the face can still look unbalanced. A small amount of chin filler is sometimes the missing piece.
- Sagging or heaviness. Botox doesn’t lift loose skin.
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or a neuromuscular condition. Botox is not done in these cases. Tell me about any medical conditions and medicines in advance.

Botox procedure in Seoul, step by step
- Free WhatsApp consultation. Send photos of your face at rest and, for wrinkles, while frowning or raising your brows. For jaw slimming, send a front photo and one while clenching your teeth. I’ll tell you which type fits and give a price estimate before you book.
- Arrival. We are on 3F of YK Tower, 121 Dosan-daero, near Sinsa Station. Your first visit includes a 3D skin analysis with EVE MUSE.
- Consultation with me. I check how your muscles move, feel the masseter when you clench, and look at your skin. We agree on the areas, the brand and the dose.
- Numbing. For most wrinkle Botox, the needle is very fine and many people skip numbing. For skin Botox, which involves many points, we use numbing cream.
- Injection. In a private one-person room. Wrinkle and jaw Botox take only a few minutes of injecting. Skin Botox takes a little longer.
- Check. We check for bleeding points, go through aftercare, and you can go back to your day straight away.
Curious about how it feels? In this short video I score how painful each treatment is after trying them myself, Botox included.

When comparing, look at the brand and the number of units, not only the price. A jaw done with too few units may show little change, and you may end up paying twice.
Botox side effects and safety
Botox is a common treatment, but it is still medicine. These are the side effects I explain:
- Small bumps, redness or bruising at the injection points. Bumps usually go within an hour; bruising can last several days.
- Headache after forehead or frown Botox, usually mild and short-lived.
- Uneven result if one side responds more. This can be balanced at the review.
- Heavy brows or, rarely, a drooping eyelid after forehead or frown Botox. It is temporary and fades as the toxin wears off.
- Chewing fatigue after jaw Botox for the first few weeks, especially with tough food.
- A changed smile if toxin affects nearby muscles in the lower face. Careful placement and dose lower this risk.
- Shoulder or arm heaviness after trapezius Botox in some people, usually temporary.
How I keep risk low
- I decide the points and dose after watching how your muscles move, not from a standard chart.
- Genuine products at the stated dose, opened in front of you.
- I recommend waiting at least about 3 months between doses in the same area. Repeated short-interval treatment may raise the chance of the body building resistance to the toxin.
Botox results: when they show and how long they last
| Type | When you notice it | How long it usually lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Wrinkle Botox | Starts in a few days, full effect around 2 weeks | Often around 3 to 4 months |
| Jaw slimming | Chewing feels weaker in 1 to 2 weeks; slimming shows gradually over about 4 to 8 weeks | Often around 3 to 6 months; repeat sessions may last longer |
| Skin Botox | Less oiliness and smoother texture within 1 to 2 weeks | Often a few months |
| Trapezius | Gradual change over several weeks | Often several months |
These are typical ranges, not promises. Results vary with the dose, the brand, your muscle strength and your metabolism.
I won’t show invented reviews or star ratings. What I see in practice is simple: people are happiest when they know the timeline in advance. If you have jaw Botox on a trip, the change will mostly appear after you get home. Send me a photo at 4 weeks and I’ll tell you how it is going.
Botox recovery and aftercare
- First 4 hours: Stay upright. Don’t lie face down or press, rub or massage the treated area.
- Day 0 to 1: Skip hard exercise, saunas, hot baths and alcohol. Makeup is usually fine after a few hours if there is no bleeding point.
- First 2 weeks: Avoid facials with strong massage over the treated area. Don’t judge the result before 2 weeks for wrinkles, or 4 weeks for the jaw.
There is little visible downtime. Most people go shopping or sightseeing the same afternoon.
Planning your Seoul trip around Botox
- Timing. Wrinkle Botox early in your trip lets you see the start of the effect before you leave. Jaw and trapezius Botox can be done any day, because the change appears over the following weeks.
- Flying. You can fly after Botox. Avoid resting your face hard against a window or neck pillow for the first few hours.
- Alcohol and saunas. Skip soju, jjimjilbang and hot spas on the day of treatment.
- Combining with filler or lifting. Botox is easy to combine. Tell me your plan and we’ll set the order on the day.
- Follow-up from home. A WhatsApp photo at 2 weeks (wrinkles) or 4 weeks (jaw) is enough for me to review.
- Hours. Mon–Fri 10:00–20:00 (lunch 13:30–14:30), Sat 10:00–16:00, closed Sunday. Free parking in the building, valet ₩4,000.
How to choose a Botox clinic in Korea
- Who decides the dose and points? Ask whether a doctor examines your muscles before injecting. At Peachcell, I do.
- Which brand, how many units? Ask for both. “Jaw Botox” without a unit number tells you little.
- Is it genuine? Ask to see the product opened in front of you.
- Is there a review? Ask how they check results and adjust if one side is stronger.
- Do they tell you when Botox isn’t the answer? If your concern is sagging or a static line, a good doctor will say so.
You can read about my training and lectures on Dr. Ha Chang-ik’s profile page.
Thank you for reading. Botox is a small treatment, but the details decide whether it looks natural. If you aren’t sure which type you need, send me a few photos and I’ll tell you what I would do, and what I wouldn’t.

Frequently asked questions
How much is Botox in Korea?
At Peachcell in winter 2026, Coretox wrinkle Botox for 1 area is listed at ₩39,000. Jaw, salivary gland, skin and trapezius Botox are listed from ₩88,000. Prices are event prices that change, VAT (10%) is separate, and the final quote is confirmed after consultation.
How long does jaw slimming Botox take to work?
Chewing usually feels weaker within 1 to 2 weeks, and the slimming shows gradually over about 4 to 8 weeks. If you have it on a trip, the visible change will mostly happen after you get home.
Does Botox hurt?
Most people describe a quick pinch. I’ve had it myself, and in a short video I score the pain of each treatment I’ve tried. Skin Botox has more injection points, so we use numbing cream for it.
Can I fly after Botox?
Yes. Stay upright for the first 4 hours and avoid pressing your face against a window or neck pillow. You can review the result with me later by WhatsApp photo.
How often can I get Botox?
I recommend waiting at least about 3 months between treatments in the same area. Shorter intervals may raise the chance of developing resistance to the toxin.
Results vary by individual. Every treatment plan is decided after an in-person consultation with the doctor.
Not sure which Botox you need? Ask before you book.
