Acne Scar Treatment Cost Seoul: What Sets It? Reviews, Methods and Recovery

Hallway to the treatment rooms at Peachcell Clinic, Seoul

Trying to pin down the acne scar treatment cost Seoul clinics quote, when every reply you get says they'd need to see your skin first?

Read this before you book a session or a flight.

You'll know what reviews get right and wrong, which methods fit which scars, how long recovery takes, and what actually sets the figure for your face, so you can choose a plan that fits your scars and your budget.

Hello, I'm Dr. Ha Chang-ik, Representative Director and Head Doctor at Peachcell Clinic in Sinsa, Seoul.

Every first visit here starts with a 3D skin analysis on EVE MUSE, then a consultation with the doctor who does the treatment, not a sales counselor.

I wrote this because many people budget for scar lasers when part of what bothers them is flat red or brown marks, which call for different, lighter care.

The cost is set mostly by the type of scar, how much of your face it covers, and how many sessions it needs. One session rarely finishes acne scars, so price the whole plan rather than one visit.

If you'd like a first step, take one photo of your cheeks next to a window with the light falling from the side, and send it on WhatsApp with one question: scars, marks, or both? Side light shows dents that a straight-on selfie flattens.

Scars or marks? The question that changes the bill

A true acne scar is a change in the skin's structure. The American Academy of Dermatology describes the depressed types as ice pick scars (narrow and deep), boxcar scars (wider, with sharp edges) and rolling scars (soft waves made by bands that tether the skin from below), alongside raised scars.

A mark is a different problem. Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation is the brown or grey colour left after a spot heals, and DermNet notes it tends to fade over months, more slowly if the skin keeps getting sun. Red marks behave in a similar way. Neither has a dent.

This is where money gets wasted. A mark needs pigment care, sun protection and time. A scar needs treatment that rebuilds collagen under the dent. Paying for collagen remodeling on a flat brown mark buys you redness and little else.

A quick check you can do at home: gently stretch the skin around a dent between two fingers. If the dent softens or disappears, it is often a rolling or shallow boxcar scar, the kind that tends to respond to collagen-building treatment. If it stays as a sharp pinhole, it is more likely an ice pick scar, which is harder to lift with any device.

I practiced in Jeju before Seoul, where strong sun makes pigmentation a daily concern, and that shaped how cautious I am with skin that darkens easily. With acne scars, aggressive settings on that kind of skin can leave fresh brown marks that take months to fade. If your skin tans quickly or holds marks for a long time, I'd rather start with lower energy and add sessions than start high and spend the next season treating pigment.

Which methods fit which acne scars

Most faces have more than one type, which is why plans often combine two methods. This is how the options on my treatment list line up:

Scar or markWhat it looks likeOptions I'd consider
Rolling scarsSoft waves, worse in side lightSylfirm X microneedle RF; Juvelook for mild hollows
Boxcar scars, rough textureFlat-bottomed dents, uneven surfacePico Fraxel on Picolite Black; Sylfirm X
Ice pick scarsNarrow, deep pinholesPartial improvement at most with these devices
Brown or red marksFlat, no dentPico toning, sun protection
Active breakoutsNew inflamed spotsGold PTT, lasers and peels first

Pico Fraxel uses the Picolite Black pico laser to work on texture and scars. Juvelook combines PDLLA with hyaluronic acid and prompts your skin to make more of its own collagen over the following weeks, so it fits fine scars and shallow hollows.

The AAD also lists subcision, fillers and surgical options for some scars. For flat brown marks without dents, our pico laser guide for melasma and dark spots covers how pigment is treated.

What decides the cost for your scars?

The acne scar treatment cost Seoul visitors end up paying is built from a handful of choices, and you can estimate most of them before you arrive.

  • Scar type and depth. This decides the device, and whether one method is enough or two are combined.
  • How much area. A patch on one cheek is a different plan from both cheeks, temples and jawline.
  • Number of sessions. Collagen remodeling happens in steps, so most plans are a series of visits.
  • Whether active acne comes first. Treating scars over new breakouts wastes sessions, so calming breakouts can be the first part of the bill.
  • Add-ons. A booster such as Juvelook alongside an energy device changes the total, and numbing cream time lengthens the visit.

Two things don't move it here: Korean and international patients pay exactly the same rate, and there is no tourist surcharge or hidden menu. The full list of treatments is on the Peachcell English homepage.

To get a figure for your own face, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with that side-lit photo and the number of days you'll be in Seoul.

Can one trip to Seoul be enough?

For a visible start, yes. For a finished result, usually not. After each session, new collagen keeps forming for weeks, so the change you see at three months is larger than what you see when you fly home. AAD guidance on acne scars is that many scars need more than one treatment, often in combination.

Say you have rolling scars on both cheeks, a few brown marks along the jaw, and five days in Seoul. I'd keep the brown marks separate, because stacking every treatment on one day raises the chance of new pigment in skin that already holds marks. And I'd plan the next session around when you can come back, or around a dermatologist near home who can continue the work.

Watch the calendar too. We're open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00, and closed on Sundays, so if you land on a Saturday evening, your first visit is Monday.

If you're working out how many trips this takes, send your travel dates and a short list of what has already been done on those scars, such as lasers, peels or isotretinoin and roughly when. Past treatments change which method is sensible now.

What do reviews of acne scar treatment in Korea get right?

Forum threads repeat a few claims. Some hold up better than others.

“My skin was red and dotted for a few days.” True for microneedle RF and fractional laser. Pinpoint marks and redness are expected, so plan photos and meetings around them.

“One session and the scars were gone.” Unlikely as a lasting result. Early improvement in the first days is partly swelling. Real collagen change shows over the following months, and deep ice pick scars rarely disappear completely with any device.

“The laser made my skin darker.” It can happen. DermNet lists laser and other procedures among the triggers of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, more so in skin that tans easily. It is a reason to adjust settings and protect from sun, and a reason not to stack treatments.

“Korean skincare fixes acne scars.” Partly. Cleansers and spot products help keep breakouts down, and the AAD's skin care tips (a mild cleanser, no scrubbing, no picking) are the basics. They don't lift a dent that is already there.

How long is the recovery before you're back in public?

With microneedle RF, most people see redness and tiny dots for a day to a few days. Pico Fraxel can leave redness and fine roughness for a few days. A booster like Juvelook can leave small bumps or bruises at injection points that usually settle within days.

Cabin air is dry, so a plain moisturizer helps, and sunscreen matters for weeks afterwards, since treated skin marks more easily in sun. Don't book a beach day right after treatment.

Risks and side effects to know

Temporary reactions are common: redness, swelling, pinpoint marks, dryness, mild flaking and, with injections, bruising.

As general medical caution, some people should wait or skip treatment for now:

  • active inflamed acne, an infection or a cold sore in the treatment area
  • isotretinoin taken recently (many dermatologists ask for a waiting period; ask the doctor who prescribed it)
  • pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • a tendency to keloid scars
  • a fresh tan or sunburn

After you fly home, watch for pain that increases instead of easing, pus, spreading redness or blisters, and see a doctor locally without delay if any appear. The US CDC's advice on medical tourism is to arrange follow-up care at home before you travel, so know which local dermatologist you'd call. You can also send photos of the area on WhatsApp.

Why the consultation comes before the quote

I try most treatments I offer on my own face first, so when I describe how a session feels or how long the redness lasts, it comes from that. I'll also tell you when a treatment won't help. With acne scars, that can mean deep ice pick scars, marks that are pigment rather than dents, or sagging that makes rolling scars look deeper. If sagging turns out to be part of the picture, our comparison of Ultherapy PRIME and Thermage FLX in Korea covers that separate question.

If you're still comparing places, my guide to choosing a dermatologist or skin clinic in Seoul lists what to check as a foreigner. And if you're planning other treatments on the same trip, such as lip filler in Korea, mention it when you write, because the order of treatments changes swelling and downtime.

When you come to Sinsa, the EVE MUSE scan and the consultation with the doctor come first, and the doctor recommends the methods and the number of sessions that fit your scars.

Results vary by individual, and the treatment plan is decided after your skin is assessed in person.

Frequently asked questions

Do foreigners pay more for acne scar treatment at Peachcell?

No. Korean and international patients pay exactly the same rate, with no tourist surcharge and no hidden menu.

Does microneedle RF or pico laser for scars hurt?

Both sting.

Should active acne be treated before the scars?

Usually, yes. New breakouts keep creating new marks and can undo scar work, so calming them first with Gold PTT, lasers or peels often makes the scar sessions count for more.

Will my acne scars disappear completely?

Expect improvement, not erasure. Rolling and shallow boxcar scars tend to respond better than deep ice pick scars, and the change builds over months after each session.

Can I get a figure before I travel?

You can ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo and your dates. The plan itself is set after the 3D skin scan and the consultation, because scar depth and type decide the method.

Results vary by individual. Every treatment plan is decided after an in-person consultation with the doctor.

I was looking for a clinic that would offer reasonable prices with good service, not rushed like other major chains. The whole process from start to end was so smooth and every staff member treated me with care! The director is also so careful during the procedure.

Above and beyond! I booked via their Instagram and it was quick and easy. They were very accommodating upon my arrival and the whole process was quick and smooth. They even provided a friendly, helpful translator who had a lot of insights into the procedures that were being done given her experience translating for other patients. She stayed with me throughout the whole process and was helpful in asking the doctor questions and providing guidance on the whole process! I consulted with one of their doctors who gave me his expert recommendation on what needs to be done for my face given my personal goals. They were not pushy at all on the procedures and even provided value-added services to my final package which was much appreciated. The procedures themselves were efficient - a doctor did both my lifting and microneedling treatments, and they adjusted whenever I expressed that I had some pain or discomfort. The post-procedure facial helped soothe my face and minimize redness and after effects. Cannot recommend this clinic enough for when you’re looking for a place to get your skin treatments done in Seoul! I will definitely be back.

They provided an english interpreter who walked me through the visit every step of the way. Her name is Sun and she is absolutely fabulous. The doctor, manager, and every assistant along the way made this a seamless operation and every detail was thought out- from the relaxing room with the numbing cream to the stuffed animal to hold onto for comfort. I highly recommend them!

Was recommended by a family member, came in not knowing what to expect. Consultation was quick and beginner friendly, although I did have to wait quite a bit. Probably because the place is popular. Will have to wait to see definitive results but wouldn't mind visiting again if the results prove great!

I had an incredible experience at Peachcell Clinic! From the moment I walked in, the staff and doctor made me feel so welcomed and well cared for. They started with a detailed EveMuse 3D facial analysis, which really helped identify my exact skin concerns rather than just offering a generic treatment.. The doctor personally evaluated my skin condition and recommended Sylfirm X and botox. Everything was thoroughly explained step-by-step, making me feel completely safe and confident. Receiving the treatment in a private, 1-on-1 room was so comfortable and relaxing. If you’re looking for high-quality, personalized dermatological care in Seoul, I highly recommend Peachcell Clinic. Definitely coming back! 💕✨

I visited the clinic after being recommended by an acquaintance while looking for a place where the doctor personally provides consultations. The director examined my face directly and recommended the treatments I needed, which made me feel very confident and trusting. I have very little facial fat and thin skin, so the doctor recommended the XERF lifting treatment for me. He said that radiofrequency lifting suits my face well, and after the procedure I’m extremely satisfied. My skin feels firmer, there’s a noticeable lifting effect, and my facial shape looks more refined. I could really feel how carefully the doctor performed the lifting, and I’m very grateful. I’ll definitely come back for XERF lifting every six months. Thank you so much!

Peach Cell Clinic, which recently opened in Sinsa-dong! It’s super easy to find since it’s right near Exit 8 of Sinsa Station on Line 3. From the moment I walked in, I was drawn to the beautiful and cozy atmosphere. Before the procedure, I had a consultation directly with the head doctor, which really boosted my confidence and trust. Another big plus was the 3D imaging, which helped clearly identify areas that could be improved. From anesthesia to the procedure itself, the staff were incredibly attentive, and I’m very satisfied with the results. If you’re looking for a great dermatology clinic near Sinsa Station, I highly recommend♥️
